People claim miracles don't exist because there's an explanation behind them.

Google defines it as:
A surprising and welcome event that is not explicable by natural or scientific laws and is considered to be divine.

According to Google's definition for "inexplicable" is: Unable to be explained or accounted for.

My question is- who can claim to be able to explain or account for every single one of of the world's natural and scientific laws?

a miracle is defined by Webster's dictionary as: an extraordinary event manifesting divine intervention in human affairs. I'll leave you to deconstruct that one, or any definition for "miracle" that your find, yourself.

Miracles that turn out to have a scientific explanation behind it does not make it any less of a miracle. God runs this world on His natural and scientific laws. He created them. Everything runs according to them. It must be consistent, His laws are never violated because that defeats the whole purpose. It would make no sense for God, in my human understanding, to come up with this unimaginable complex algorithm for His creation and then violate it.

"A miracle is said to be contrary to nature when the effect produced is contrary to the natural course of things...Again, the term contrary to nature does not mean "unnatural" in the sense of producing discord and confusion. The forces of nature differ in power and are in constant interaction. This produces interferences and counteractions of forces. This is true of mechanical, chemical, and biological forces. - science needs to catch up with religion
- there is a reason for everything
- when I was around 6, I never got a pearl necklace to magically appear in my drawer even though I prayed for one because either a) it was unnatural or b) God decided to not intelligently inter/counteract with forces of nature for our collective and/or individual good (for the categorical imperative.).

(note: you need to figure out for yourself, what YOUR venial sins are- renders your entering into a state of mortal sin practically impossible :] )

They're already claiming papal blessing for mass condom distributions.
There needs to be a strongly worded Vatican statement that clarifies:

I'm earnestly requesting prayers for my friend who has cancer. Please. Either that it goes away, or that she can continue the rest of her days in acceptance, grace, peace, joy and solace. She's 21.
And that God may guide my words!! and her actions and those of the people around her.

Through the most sorrowful Passion of our Lord Jesus Christ, have mercy on her and on the whole world.

Please pause for a second and pray this prayer For Healing (I changed the wording from "me" to "her"):

Lord, You invite all who are burdened to come to You. Allow your healing hand to heal her. Touch her soul with Your compassion for others. Touch her heart with Your courage and infinite love for all. Touch her mind with Your wisdom, that her mouth may always proclaim Your praise. Teach her to reach out to You in her need, and help her to lead others to You by her example. Most loving Heart of Jesus, bring her health in body and spirit that she may serve You with all her strength. Touch gently this life which You have created, now and forever. Amen.

Just the fact that you make a decision is enough. And it is essential to keep yourself busy. The journey is what indeed makes it the best for you, and that is what is intended. Do not be greedy, you will never find happiness. Happiness isn't something one can "find" in any case. You can go search for the new, exciting, strange and exotic but if you don't have basic fulfillment you're nowhere. And whatever you gain will not bring you a ringing peace.

In the process of reading Anna Karenina, re-reading the 4th Harry Potter for the 10th time, and have the first 2 Twilight books on my bedside table. Well not so much a bedside table as a cardboard box weighed shut. I'm on Twitter and I must say it's quite interesting and may actually have a point. My initial reaction was like...okay, I'm on Twitter but now what. but then, once I got a couple of my friends on there, it's quite nice. And I love following people like Paulo Coelho although he may have a bit too much time on his hands. Still, it's nice to read his tweets. One of my distant cousins is in France now for college. I'm jealous, she'll probably be speaking amazing french when she gets back. My other not-so-distant cousin is travelling the world. My friend S has been to Rome, Paris, London. My other friend N is an adult already. My aim in life, I think, is to:
1) be a good wife
2) be a good mother
3) get my masters, work for a while & be awesome for that while.
4) teach sunday school
5) cook awesome
6) be wise, strong, happy and elegant
7) develop my talents- act, sing, dance
8) travel the world
If I were to be totally selfish and un-christian they would be to:
1) party like a rockstar
2) become a black belt
3) pop, lock and drop my way into professional choreography
4) this one would sound narcissistic
5) become an actress
6) be part of a rock band
7) try my hand at graphic designing

I am currently reading the book The Cross and the Switchblade by David Wilkerson. It's wonderful so far. I've been wanting to read TCatS for the longest time; simply because it came recommended by the incredible Nicky Cruz, the author of Run, Baby Run (authored with with Jamie Buckingham). I read Run, Baby Run many years ago and never forgot it, it's absolutley fantastic. And it's a true story. If you're curious, don't look him up on wikipedia; it gives his story away in the first two lines!! It's about the life and transformation of the leader of the most feared gang (the Puerto Rican Mau-Maus) in New York between 1957 and 1961, Nicky Cruz (yes, the author). That's all I'm saying. I don't know if the movie will be good, but read the book.
One of the next book I'd like to read is Second Chance: The Israel Narvaez Story by Israel Narvaez with Darla Milne.

myself. Deciding what to write in my blogs..will be pretty tough. There's a lot that goes on in my day, and a lot more that goes on in my head. I guess i'll just start wit what happened today. So well, i woke up..at 9:30. had slept at 3. had watched how i met your mother on my friend's laptop; in hopes to improve upon my sense of humor. But mostly to be entertained, as i had nothing better to do. Too soon to tell if my former aim was reached, but i can say with certainty that watchin the same 5 people doing things half-stupid, half-annoying for 6 hours straight is far from entertaining. After i woke up this mornin i opened up my text book- computer organization. It made sense for about 1 hour, after which my stomach was like..please eat somethin. I had a wonderful grecian breakfast (is that correct? can i say grecian breakfast? Greek? I'll go with greek. It's like the Oriental rug vs. saying he's Oriental. Or maybe not. I'm jus totally trippin cuz i hav e a cousin at Oxford and i would not like him to think that my english is pathetic.). I had a wonderful greek breakfast in my dorm room. There were delicious green grapes, dates (of the "paan" variety) and a cask of water. And the morning was so pretty. Sunny..
Then i went out to lunch with one of my friends, and i took my books along cuz i had class from 1 to 3. for lunch I had several helpings of the juciest chicken kebab ever, washed down with a glass of mango juice. Then walked to class after droppin my cell phone back in the room. We have cell phone raids. Isn't that..confining? to say the least? Our HODs are sadistic, close minded, temperamental, completely unjust fatties. With all due respect. I do love the culture here mostly. I love the food, the values, the family life. Will get back to that..
Now i am goin to skip down to an issue i have a problem with: everything i have a problem with everything. It's not like i can say OH i'm a blah of abortion or gay marriage or fur or child abuse. Or i have this issue with racism or that issue with whatever. I AM CONFUSED. well. i'm not confused, to be honest. I just have a lot of opinions that i don't find easy to express, due to the feedback i get. For once, hear me out without jumping at me.
Now i will back out of that, and go off on a little tangent yet again. But maybe later..
